Rugby still has a long way to go before it reaches the celebratory dispicableness (is that a word?) of soccer. Soccer players tend to mount and ride the goal scorer, I’m glad I’m not a good soccer player.

Richief: you are wrong.
I would love to see a Spencer/Kelleher combo because I believe on attack both are generally more exciting than M & M. BUT, as Spencer proved in the World Cup and again on Tues, he just can’t handle pressure. Sure, he’s good when his forwards are performing, but who isn’t? Both Marshall and Mehrts, however, can always be counted on to perform under pressure. Just look at their performances in Super 12 final history. Mehrts’ tactical kicking has always been the best in the country, and going by his last few performances it seems his running game is becoming superior too.

i tentatively suggest that spencer’s relatively stationary condition upon receiving the ball is due to the fact that he has to delay, stop and/or walk backwards because the halfback is taking so long to distribute
