Country that wasn’t

by Matthew Bartlett @ 8:27 am

John lent me Grant Lee Buffalo’s Mighty Joe Moon. It’s majestic. I really like Fuzzy and Copperopolis, but I think John’s right to say this is their magnum opus. Sounds like music that might have play at night in old National Geographic magazine stories about the hot wide open good rough places in America.

Glad you are enjoying it. After listening to that album, I expected so much more from music in the 90s.

  2. Matthew says:

I think he is off on his own tangent, mostly ignored. I don’t really hear other bands ‘standing in the same stream’ as him. Even looking at this ‘related bands’ display (which is often quite helpful): Gnod – GLB none of the other artists seem very closely connected, cept *maybe* Pearl Jam & Dave Matthews.

  3. John says:

    Hey, that is quite cool.
