matt, yo link don’t work for me. cher

  2. Ah, GS’s site is playing up. Temporarily fixed.

  3. Sam says:

He seemed a bit negative towards what the cause was trying to acheive.

  4. Nah, he is actually quite positive about what the cause is trying to achieve – alleviating poverty in Africa is easily in the top ten things he would like to see change in the world, and which he believes need NOT wait for the return of the King. (Emphasis on ALLEVIATING, which is of course not the same is eradicating, which would be wonderful, but – except in relative terms – highly unlikely before the return of the King.)

Yup, the permalinks or broken. But that situation should not last much beyond the summer …

  5. Sam says:

Thank you for clearing that up for me there. Just now. You.

Highly unlikely, yes, but it is a nice thought that perhaps all of this may indeed “make poverty history” as they say.

Something, most definatly, the Lord has his hand on.

  6. Gideon, (if you’re still reading this commenting board) I like your point that we blessed people should “spend time in Africa.” I can only wonder how many millions of dollars could be made if the continent were labelled as a safe and friendly tourist destination. Annually tourism is one of New Zealand’s major industries, and I suppose (and ‘suppose’ is a key word here) that Live8 would achieve far greater economic change if the concert had said, “instead of travelling to upper-class areas of England to see these musicians, you should be spending your money in the shops of Nigeria.” In my own limited understanding of finance and politics, I can see debt being eliminated, which is nice and all, but I see it really only benefiting those who are rich enough to pay taxes anyway. Surely it would be better for us all to spend money in shops in Africa where the money directly affects African families? Maybe I’m on the wrong track here, but the gist is that I like what was being said at your site.

  7. But, to be fair, Live8 has certainly raised debate and awareness throughout the world. And that must be a good thing. Even if it does delay Muse further from their 2006 album release date… grr…

  8. Sam says:

    Pfft. Muse – shmuse

  9. Sam says:

If by Sting you mean see you get stung by a scorpion, yes. I would much prefer that.

  10. Oh! You must have me mistaken. I meant Sting, the hobbit sword. And I was asking if you’d rather see it, aimed at your belly?

    (sorry for digressing Matt…)
