Parp-iversary
GIVEAWAY: To celebrate this day of apparently infinite potential, mhjb.co.nz/blog offers the first interested commentor one 14-watt (75-watt incandescent equivalent) Philips longlife energy saver bulb, made in China, valued at around $5.65. The catch: it’s a screw-in rather than the bayonet fitting which this house needs.
An idea: A general-purpose Wellington events calendar, why not? If it gets unwieldy we can break it down into smaller geographic or interest-based segments. Email me if you’d like to be able to add events.
Yes please, I’m interested. Saving the planet, yeah!
On the saving the planet theme: Interesting item on National Radio this morning. Al Gore who’s going to save the world with his documentary An Inconvennient Truth uses four times the energy at one of his four house as the average American (around 20,000kwhrs p.a. from memory).
Bad form Al!
Correction to the above: 20 time yes thats right folks TWENTY times the average American
Ha. I hope he takes the hint and goes all super efficient then.
you could add letter writing days to the calendar
Good idea; done.
56 days to go until what??
The 10,000 days party.
formatting thingy… why ’02007′ on all posts instead of just ’2007′
I got the idea from Long Now, maybe particularly from this essay. The idea is to become the kind of people who plant trees to replace the beams in their buildings when they need it in five hundred years.
That rules my jewels.
