Bracing debate on the problem of suffering between Bart Ehrman and NT Wright I’m still a Christian after reading it, but it’s a close thing
NT Wright is the business.
Must say I didn’t find the debate “bracing”. Seemed like all Ehrman said was, “There’s lots and lots of really bad suffering in the world.” Which is true, of course, and to which Wright replied, “Well, uh, we knew that much. It’s just that God has a plan for doing something about it.”
I don’t mean to make light of the very real suffering, and the lots of it. But I do think Ehrman’s argument is, well, rather light.
