I believe in travelling light
Paraguay now has a former bishop who is keen on liberation theology for a president. More on Democracy Now!

I wonder who he is going to take land off so as to benefit the poor, and in doing so will he create more problems?
This is a Jubilee-ish problem, no?
only if Paraguay is planning to become heaven on earth or some sort of theocracy
Isaiah wasn’t calling for heaven on earth or theocracy when he said “Woe to those who join house to house, who add field to field, until there is no more room, and you are made to dwell alone in the midst of the land.” nor is Proverbs 28:8 “He who increases his wealth by exorbitant interest amasses it for another, who will be kind to the poor.”
fair point
I wonder if he will continue to preach Christ crucified
Probably not; he had to quit being a bishop to become el president.
every thought captive as Van Till might say… I wonder if the Catholic Church in Paraguay used to be involved in that right wing execution squad?
I’d rather hope he’d be preaching in a “and if necessary you can use words” type way.
