  1. david says:

    yes, please explain.

  2. dan says:

I’m pleased that that verse begins with ‘If’.

  3. matt says:

it’s a rhetorical question, dan. a la these

  4. matt says:

julia & david: right here is where it’s at, it’s not all about going to heaven when you die.

  5. david says:

that’s cool, but I presume you are coming from the point that there are ‘things’ to be done in heaven. We won’t just turn up in heaven, find a spot to sit and stay and sing for eternity. We will be busy. But I’m sure that you still ‘care’ that you are going there or not.

  6. matt says:

what i’m getting at is that a proverbs-man’s focus is here on earth, rather than what happens when he dies

  7. dan says:

I love sunny lunches with friends and food and fbeers.
I really do see what you mean – living for the now is so much of a more better idea than living only ‘to get to heaven’. I guess in all truth we know squat about heaven (detailswise) – deciphering the symbology of Revelation is a tricky thing – but we know it will be a place where we can join in unhindered communion with God – that in itself should be enough to satisfy/convince us that the important thing now is to be now and to live now and to work now for/in the kingdom.
