Man I really want to see this film. However, seeing as I was fired from my job as a sunday school teacher for getting the kids each week to rip up the cartoon pictures of the blonde haired and blue eyed Jesus in (what I considered to be) unbiblical sunday school materials (in which, incidentally, Satan was depicted as a black man in the desert temptation lesson), it would be inconsistent of me. I recommend the article in the latest Faith in Focus on why it shouldn’t be watched, but also would love for someone to convince me that pictures and representations of Jesus are alright. Because then I could apologise to my old sunday school kids and watch the Passion.
IMHO the main way the Son shows us what the Father is like is through His suffering. So I thought Gibson did a good job of showing a little bit of what Jesus is like, and therefore showing a bit of what the Father is like. He managed this not by getting Jesus’ nose right or long hair just so, but through his actions. I don’t think you necessarily need to apologise for teaching Sunday school students stuff from the catechism.
unreservedly
As do I.
well in saying that im assuming that you guys held a little cardboard headshaped cut-out as you watched to self-censor any images?
I have remained pure and clean by not watching it. All bow to me.
but your unorthodoxed wife has put a black mark through the Holtslag name which was held in such purity and light, by veiwing the film
