    I did the Australian one. If everyone lived like me, four Earths would be needed. Hmmm.

    cool :-) i filled in completely random numbers just to see how it worked, and got just above average; 31,000 sq meters, 4.3 earths. I don’t know about it, though; it seems a little simple. as far as i can tell, it doesn’t take into account the overlap between the individual footprints—it just takes the food, transport, etc footprints and adds ’em up. It also doesn’t seem take into account the overlap between different people’s and household’s footprints. the other thing, it doesn’t seem to take into account what you put back into the environment; the NZ one *does* ask about your income, but that’s a pretty indirect measure. The Oz one asks about waste, but that’s also pretty indirect.
    i probably wasn’t supposed to get pedantic about this one…

    Yeah, I don’t think it’s very accurate. I didn’t understand why my household fuel use etc was relevant to me. I think it’s a worthwhile thing to think about though.
