you know, I like Tim’s posts better than Matts. I’m sorry matt, but that’s just the way of it.

  2. richface says:

nice tim. agree with you on most points. go gibbes.
i think i would prefer a kelleher/carlos combo (despite spencer not having the flashest night — it was mostly due to slow/bad ball from his halfback).

  3. hans says:

The so called bad ball that spencer got related more to his standing still rather than a bad pass thrown by the half back. Spencer once again proved that when the pressure is on, he is a liability.

  4. david says:

that Hans sounds like he is a wise old man. Who really is he?

  5. John says:

Let’s stop the blame game people. They all tried their hardest, and that is what really counts.

  6. richief says:

i tentatively suggest that spencer’s relatively stationary condition upon receiving the ball is due to the fact that he has to delay, stop and/or walk backwards because the halfback is taking so long to distribute

  7. sternum says:

    Hans: you are right.
    Richief: you are wrong.
I would love to see a Spencer/Kelleher combo because I believe on attack both are generally more exciting than M & M. BUT, as Spencer proved in the World Cup and again on Tues, he just can’t handle pressure. Sure, he’s good when his forwards are performing, but who isn’t? Both Marshall and Mehrts, however, can always be counted on to perform under pressure. Just look at their performances in Super 12 final history. Mehrts’ tactical kicking has always been the best in the country, and going by his last few performances it seems his running game is becoming superior too.

  8. Marshall ran around the field flapping his arms when he last scored a try. He should be kicked off the team for good. Next he’ll come out wearing a yellow t-shirt and yelling ‘Ole!’

  9. Tim Sterne says:

Rugby still has a long way to go before it reaches the celebratory dispicableness (is that a word?) of soccer. Soccer players tend to mount and ride the goal scorer, I’m glad I’m not a good soccer player.

  10. I’m sure ‘mount’ is a swear-jar-able offense

  11. Didn’t we put mount on the list of verboten verbatim?

    Looks like a spam!

  13. Matthew says:

    Deleteated, thanks.
